Dr. Liwen Ye is a mentor for MD students and post MD residents in Psychiatry and Behavioral Science. He was a clinical assistant professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and currently a clinical assistant professor at New York State University (SUNY) Downstate Medical School.
Passion to educate the next generation of psychiatrist, Dr. Ye enjoys teaching medical students and resident physicians in specialty clinic, emergency room and consultations in the hospital, also in the classrooms to use advances in neuroscience and psychopharmacology to help the patients.
Dr. Ye has had extensive academic experiences and community clinical experiences. He has fellowship training in Physiology at Johns Hopkins University Medical school and Nephrology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard University Medical School and Psychiatry Residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City. He has fellowship in Psychoanalysis at Institute for Psychoanalytic education affiliated with NYU School of Medicine. He rotated in Medicine, Surgery, OB/GYN, Pediatrics and emergency medicine for a year at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. In psychiatry, he also rotated at Massachusetts General Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, New York University Langone Medical Center, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island.
Prior to his practices and education in the US, Dr. Ye graduated from one of the best medical schools in China, Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University (Bachelor of Medicine), founded by Yale in China association. He was later trained at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (Master of Medicine) and Shanghai Medical College Fudan University (Doctor of Medicine).
